The Construction of “Lake Poyang Economic District” – The Rise of Jiangxi Province
Invitation
Asia Capital Forum and Nanchang Municipal Government cordially invite you to “China to Boost Rise of Central Region” (Nanchang) Strategic Consulting Forum, 2007. The conference will be held between June 28 and June 30 2007, at Jiangxi Hotel, Nanchang, China. Subject: Subject: The Construction of “Lake Poyang Economic District” – The Rise of Jiangxi Province.
To briefly illustrate the background of this forum – China will accelerate development of its central region to implement the national strategy of realizing coordinated development of various regions – "The central region should become China's major grain production base, production base of raw materials and energy sources, new and high-tech industrial base, manufacturing base of modern equipment and comprehensive transportation hubs," said the executive meeting of the State Council, chaired by Premier Wen Jiabao. The central region has geographic advantages for its rise as it is situated between the booming eastern region and the relatively backward but resource-rich western region. It also has advantages in certain industrial sectors. The Central Government wishes the central region, which includes Anhui, Shanxi, Henan, Jiangxi, Hubei and Hunan, to be a connecting link between eastern and western development. To put the above plan into practice, Jiangxi Provincial Government highlighted “Lake Poyang Economic District” which surrounds 6 cities - Nanchang, Jiujiang, Jingdezhen, Yingtan, Shangrao and Fuzhou to enhance the cooperation of regional centers within the province and to lead the development of surrounded areas.
The attendees of this forum will include: government officials and specialists from State Council and Ministries, business leaders from China and foreign countries, mayors and other government officials from central region provinces / cities of China, and mayors of cities within “Lake Poyang Economic District”. The forum will accommodate around 250 attendees to share views and ideas, deliver speeches and have a roundtable seminar about the rise of “Lake Poyang Economic District” and other central Chinese regions.
We look forward to having your presence and hearing your speech at the opening ceremony.
